1) Apparently, he's considered one of the (if not the) greatest catchers in MLB history by the sabermetric nerds.
2) I've always considered his 'malapropisms' perfect examples of why formal logic fails to capture the entire meaning of a sentence. Take for instance, "It ain't over 'til it's over." Formal logic would represent that as a mere tautology, but unlike 'A is A' or 'A or -A' [how is 'until' translated?], Yogi's statement means so much more.
