In my grade school, every student was designated as either 'cold lunch' (someone whose mother packed him/her a lunch) or 'hot lunch' (someone who bought lunch from the school cafeteria).
I think, more than anything else in grade school, it was my designation as 'hot lunch' (with an occasional cold lunch) that shaped my self-image.
